A Juice A Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

Everyone is learning the benefits for increasing the amount of veggies you intake each day, not just for weight loss but for our health and the health of those we love. There are many ways to do this and the best (because you don’t lose any of the nutrients in the veggies) is to juice. Listed below are a two of my favorites juices. I hope you enjoy them and remember to stay as close to organic as you can. The difference you will feel with a healthy diet are amazing!! Plus the weight loss doesn’t hurt, I will post more juices soon and ENJOY!!!!

Cucumber/Kale/Spinach
For 1 glass
Ingredients:
• 2 whole small cucumbers
• 1/2 cup kale
• 1/4 cup spinach
• 1/2 slice lemon
Prep:
1. Rinse and chop all veggies. Make sure to use cold water and to keep food separated. ( For the cucumbers you can cut into 1 inch chunks)
2. Remove the rind and seeds from the lemon and slice them thin.
3. Put all ingredients into the juice and enjoy!
Hint:
• To preserve the nutrients of the veggies juices should be enjoyed at room temp, however, if you want a cold juice simply put ice in. Do not chill or leave in the fridge.
Benefits:
1. Kale is known as the “powerhouse” of veggies, it has all the good stuff (like phytonutrients and vitamins A, C, & K which are great antioxidants). Kale also has more calcium than milk, more iron than beef, and more Vitamin C than spinach.
2. All greens clean your blood and digestive tract which will give you more energy and a good cleans all at once.

Apple/Kale/Spinach/Carrots
For 1 glass
Ingredients:
• 2 whole small apples
• 1/2 cup kale
• 1/4 cup spinach
• 1-3 carrots sticks
Prep:
1. Rinse and chop all veggies. Make sure to use cold water and to keep food separated. Remove the rind and seeds from the apples and slice them into wedges.
2. Put all ingredients into the juice and enjoy!
Hint:
• To preserve the nutrients of the veggies juices should be enjoyed at room temp, however, if you want a cold juice simply put ice in. Do not chill or leave in the fridge.
Benefits:
1. Apples are perfect for every day juice because they not only make the juice delicious to drink (which is almost more important than the health benefits) but also because they have a lot of pectin which removes toxins in the digestive tract.
2. Even though the carrots will make your juice look brown and gross, they are packed full of beta carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, riboflavin, and vitamins A and C… Not always sure but these nurturance’s do but I know they are good for you!
