Step 1: Learn Your Shape
As you probably know there are 6 main body shapes. In order to emphasize your assets, gain a new found confidence and look your best it is important to understand which shape you have. Once you know this you can explore your unique style in a whole new way!
Remember, there is a large misconception that certain body shapes mean that you are fat or unattractive. This is INCORRECT! Body shapes are simply the categories in which you can describe your curves in a universal way. It is a means to help show off your body in a way that highlights your best qualities while minimizing those unwanted parts that we all have.
The following is a breakdown of each Body Shape:
1) The Spoon-
You gain most of your weight in your legs and butt, your bust and waist are smaller than your bottom but you have a nice feminine curve to flaunt!
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = 2 inches > Bust
• Waist = 9 inches < Bust
Basically this means that your HIPS are 2 inches LARGER than your BUST while your WAIST is 9 inches SMALLER than your BUST. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 34-25-36 or 40-31-42 you are both still a Spoon Body Shape.
2) The Hourglass-
You gain most of your weight in your midsection, your bust and hips are equal in size and your waist in smaller, you have the ageless shape!
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = Bust
• Waist = 9 inches < Bust & Hips
Basically this means that your HIPS are SAME as your BUST while your WAIST is at least 9 inches SMALLER than your BUST AND HIPS. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 38-27-38 or 40-31-40 you are both still a Hourglass Body Shape.
3) The Inverted Triangle-
You have a larger upper half or shoulder area and smaller hips. You have the opposite shape of the pear body shape, your get to sport a more athletic figure!
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = 3-4 inches < Bust
• Waist = 9 inches < Hips
Basically this means that your HIPS are SMALLER than your BUST while your WAIST is 9 inches SMALLER than your HIPS. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 34-25-30 or 40-31-36 you are both still a Inverted Triangle Body Shape.
4) The Rectangle-
You have what most people call a boy shape, you are slender and have the physique of a model!
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = Bust
• Waist = 5 inches < Bust & Hips
Basically this means that your HIPS are SAME as your BUST while your WAIST is around 5 inches SMALLER than your BUST AND HIPS. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 30-25-30 or 40-35-40 you are both still a Rectangle Body Shape.
5) The Pear-
You are what people call the fat bottom girl! You are similar to the spoon so be careful while measuring!
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = 3-4 inches > Bust
• Waist = 5 inches < Hips
Basically this means that your HIPS are LARGER than your BUST while your WAIST is 5 inches SMALLER than your HIPS. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 34-30-38 or 40-36-44 you are both still a Pear Body Shape.
6) The Apple-
You gain most of your weight in your midsection, your hips are smaller than your bust while your bust to waist are in equal in size.
Your Measurements are usually similar to:
• Hips = 3-4 inches < Bust
• Waist = Bust
Basically this means that your HIPS are SMALLER than your BUST while your WAIST is EQUALL to your BUST. It doesn’t matter what your measurements are as long as the difference is within this range.
For example, if your measurements are 28-28-24 or 40-40-36 you are both still an Apple Body Shape.
